Course Description: This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles and methods of research and the systematic use of descriptive biostatistics. Lectures will be accompanied by practical exercises to enhance students' ability to apply these concepts and methods.

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
• Definition of key terms used in the fields of descriptive epidemiology, biostatistics, and research methods
• Explanation of the basic rules and methods for conducting research
• The appropriate study design is recommended to be compatible with its intended purposes.
• Creating the necessary tools to gather information

Discussion of theory and principles of disease surveillance and prediction
• Identify the reasons for taking a sample and identify the methods of taking a sample.
