Identify the main principles of conservative dental treatment.
Understand the relationship between clinical and preventive methods
• Knowing how to apply mechanical and biological principles in prosthetic design to improve or restore the shape and function of teeth
Understanding the physical properties of dental materials
- Understand how to perform intra- and extra-oral examinations
• Identification of the causes of plaque and tartar formation and their treatment methods
• Give instructions and motivate the patient for oral prophylaxis
• Classification of cavities according to old and new classifications and knowing the rules for their treatment
• Understanding the cause and clinical application of non-carious tooth loss
- Note the rules for protecting the root canal
Understanding the terminology used to describe the properties of dental materials and how
• Selection of the appropriate material for a specific clinical application
• Take intraoral X-rays using the bisecting angle and parallel beam techniques, as well as apical, bitewing, occlusal, and parallel radiographs. Additionally, take extraoral radiographs, including panoramic X-rays, to detect cavities, dental defects, and periodontal diseases.
• Awareness of the prevalence of oral and dental diseases in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Understanding the legal rules for describing different therapeutic pharmacological agents when required
