Body systems in health and disease

Course Description: This program is specifically designed to ensure that dental students acquire a sound and integrated knowledge in the different areas of anatomy, histology, pathology, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and the physiological basis of the human body systems. It will also cover common health problems directly or indirectly related to the practice of dentistry, including internal medicine and dermatology.

Objectives of the course :

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
• Identify the anatomical, histological, and physiological principles that form the basis of the body's various systems.
• Description of the pathology, clinical picture, and pathogenesis of common health problems in different body systems.
• Discussing various diagnostic procedures for those common health problems.
• Identify different management plans for those common health problems.
• Emphasize the relationship and effects of various systemic diseases on the oral cavity. .

Course outputs :

• Recognition of orofacial diseases, clinical symptoms, and complications of these diseases.
• All these objectives will be confirmed by emphasizing cognitive information, skills, and affective domains.
• Measure body temperature.
• Measure blood pressure and heart rate.
• Implement different injection methods.
