Principles of diseases

Course Description: This course covers the fundamental principles of disease and relevant pathology. There is a great emphasis on understanding the mechanisms underlying changes at the cellular and subcellular levels. The dimensions of cell injury, inflammation, pathogenesis, repair and regeneration, cancer, circulatory disturbances, and nutritional diseases and their study are examined. The relationship between systemic diseases and their significance in dentistry is also discussed. This course will provide the student with an understanding of pharmacology and therapeutic drugs as applied to dental practice.
