Research Seminar on Science Teaching Methods and Curricula

Course Description: This course covers the components of an educational research plan in the field of curricula and science teaching methods, with a focus on the importance of previous studies and research and their role in supporting scientific research. It also explains the specifications and conditions for good scientific research in this field and addresses the ethics of educational research and the selection of appropriate research methodologies. It also includes criteria for critiquing research on curricula and science teaching methods, steps for preparing a comprehensive research plan, and how to prepare and apply data collection tools. It concludes with how to write a scientific research report and analyze and evaluate some applied research in the field of science curricula.

Credit hours: 3

Objectives of the course :

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Identifies the components of an educational research plan in the field of curriculum and science teaching methods.
2. Realizes the importance of previous studies and research in the field of scientific research.
3. Derives the specifications and conditions for good scientific research in the field of curricula and science teaching methods.
4. It defines the foundations for selecting research methods in curriculum and science teaching methods research.
Adheres to the ethics of educational research.
6. Acquires the skill of critically evaluating curriculum research and science teaching methods in light of standards.
7. Acquires the skill of preparing a research plan in science curricula and teaching methods.
Acquires skills in preparing tools and collecting data in curriculum research and science teaching methods.
9. Writes the scientific report for curriculum and science teaching methods research.
10. He/She/They conduct some research in the field of science curricula.
