Course Description: The "Digital Journalism" course introduces the new concepts of digital journalism, its historical, artistic, and technical development, its characteristics, sources, elements, and divisions, and its role in the modern era, with a focus on digital tools and technologies used in news gathering, editing, production, and publication across digital platforms. It also reviews the challenges facing digital journalism, such as credibility and journalistic ethics in the digital environment, in addition to practical skills that help students create innovative and engaging journalistic content using multimedia.

Objectives of the course :

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand the evolution of digital journalism and its impact on traditional journalism, and identify the most prominent digital platforms and tools used in journalistic work. This course equips students with skills in using digital editing and publishing tools to create engaging, multimedia journalistic reports, and applying digital storytelling techniques using text, images, video, and audio. They will also learn to manage social media accounts and platforms for news dissemination and audience analysis in a professional manner, as well as adhere to journalistic ethics in the digital environment, respecting the values of accuracy, objectivity, and impartiality in publishing news online. Furthermore, students will develop a sense of responsibility towards combating fake news.
