Course Description: This course covers the forensic medicine curriculum and is built around general and specific behavioral objectives, integrating basic sciences with clinical sciences and the skills required for diagnosis and treatment. The content addresses the diagnosis of death, determination of its causes and time of occurrence, changes that occur after death, wounds and their types and causes, head injuries, weapons and firearms and their types, their entry and exit effects on the body, burns, electric shock, asphyxiation, drowning, sexual assault, rape, abortion, poisons and poisoning. These vary in their importance to the general practitioner in terms of their theoretical and practical content.

Objectives of the course :

Diagnosis of death.
2. Specifying sex and race.
3. Examination of different stains such as blood, semen, milk, and feces.
4. Classification of wounds from a medical and legal perspective.
5. Identify the causes, types, and influencing factors of head injuries.
6. Identification and description of firearm injuries.
7. Identifying and describing injuries caused by physical factors.
8. Handling sexual assault and miscarriage.
9. Diagnosing causes of death in different age groups and describing post-mortem changes.
10. Recognizing and dealing with preventive and environmental toxicology, including forensic toxicology.
11. Understanding and managing clinical poisoning cases.
12. Study and learn antidotes for the most common toxic agents.
13. Focus on international medicine, such as domestic violence (child abuse) in forensic medicine, and lead poisoning in children in clinical toxicology.
