Introduction to Clinical Medical Training

Course Description: This is a multidisciplinary course for fourth-year students after they have comprehensively studied the various body systems. The primary objective of this program is to transition students from academic learning to practical training with real patient encounters, under strict supervision, in various healthcare settings. During the course, students are expected to update their theoretical knowledge of common medical problems in the Kingdom, practice taking histories from real patients, enhance their analytical and interpretative skills to reach a diagnosis, and develop a treatment plan.

Prerequisites: CMD 345
Objectives of the course :

1. Take an appropriate medical history from patients in different situations.
2. Safely perform a physical examination to identify signs of illness.
3. Safely use relevant diagnostic and medical intervention procedures.
4. Determine relevant laboratory tests and select appropriate imaging methods.
5. Assume evidence-based treatment plans for encountered conditions.
6. Conducting health education sessions for patients and the community.
7. Demonstrate professional behavior in interactions with patients and healthcare teams in various healthcare settings.
