Course Description: This course is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with a deep understanding of community health principles and the health system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The course aims to prepare graduates who are not only well-versed in the theoretical aspects of preventive and community medicine but are also equipped with practical skills to tackle real-world health challenges. By aligning with internationally accepted standards, the program ensures that students are capable of anticipating, evaluating, and responding to diverse community health needs. The core focus of the course is to empower students to identify and analyze significant health issues at three interconnected levels: the individual, the family, and the community.

Objectives of the course :

1. Identify and address common health issues, including physical, emotional, and social dimensions at the individual, family, and community levels, while also managing emerging and potential health threats.
Formulate and implement the fundamental principles for the prevention and control of infectious and non-communicable diseases.
3. Analyze the various factors affecting health and disease patterns in populations, including lifestyle choices, genetic predispositions, demographic trends, environmental conditions, and occupational influences.
4. Demonstrate understanding of health systems management and its role in improving healthcare delivery.
5. Apply fundamental principles related to environmental, personal, and occupational health issues when providing patient care.
6. Understand and practice the fundamental principles of infection prevention and control within healthcare settings.
7. Study of global health concerns and the contributions of international health organizations, with a special focus on pandemic management and health issues related to Hajj and Umrah.
8. Planning and delivering effective health education campaigns within community settings.
9. Raise awareness and improve public health.
