The objectives aim to introduce students to the anatomy, histology, development, functions, diseases, injuries, and tumors of the musculoskeletal system, as well as the skin and its appendages, their histology, functions, diseases, and how to medically examine, diagnose, treat, and prevent these systems.
8 Credit Hours
Objectives of the course :

1. Understand the basic anatomy and normal function of the musculoskeletal system.
2. Be aware of the pathological changes occurring in bones, joints, muscles, and nerves in cases of illness.
3. Explain the role of imaging technologies and laboratory tests in diagnosing musculoskeletal disorders.
4. Identifying the treatment for common conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system and the principles of treating skin diseases.
5. Recognizing the impact of motor disorders on patient function and employability, and consequently on the utilization and delivery of healthcare.
6. Knowledge of the structure and functions of the skin and its appendages.
7. Identification of the biochemical basis of alpha-keratin and hair and nail proteins.
8. Explanation of melanin structure and identification of melanocytes and their disorders.
