1. Description of the mechanism of breathing and airway obstruction, including the anatomy and tissues of the respiratory system, lung volumes, tissue elasticity, and surface tension in breathing, as well as the factors determining airway caliber.
2. Interpretation of the basic pathophysiological mechanisms in airway obstruction with its treatment principles.
3. Explain the process of gas exchange, including the pulmonary circulation, alveolar ventilation, and partial pressure of carbon dioxide, the role of ventilation in acid-base balance and blood pH, the characteristics of the hemoglobin dissociation curve and the relationship between ventilation/perfusion; and explain the role of environmental pollution as a cause of gas exchange disorders.
4. Description and explanation of lung defenses and lung injuries, including non-specific and immune defenses in the respiratory system, characteristics of respiratory pathogens (purulent and tuberculosis), pathology of respiratory tract infections, epidemiology of respiratory infections, pharmacodynamics of first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs, antibiotics in respiratory infections, and the etiology, incidence, and classification of lung cancer.
