Growth and development for nursing

Course Description: This course aims to introduce students to the growth and development of the human body from fertilization to old age. It covers biological, cognitive, psychological, and social developmental stages, including the transition from cell formation to the formation of different tissues and organs of the human body. This is achieved by providing an introduction to embryology, histology, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and anatomy, all in an integrated manner, in addition to the fundamentals of medical genetics by discussing the structure and function of cell chromosomes. .

Objectives of the course :

1. Description of the development and growth of body systems in the fetal stage, the functions of the reproductive system, and its role in gamete formation and fertilization.
2. Describe the changes and embryonic development in the early stages of pregnancy.
3. Clarification of the anatomy and functions of the male and female reproductive organs.
4. Explain the importance of cell division and the classification of cells, how they aggregate to form tissues, and understand the main types of tissues (epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous).
5. Linking microscopic anatomy with physiological processes related to body systems.
6. Understanding the endocrine system and its functions in the body.
7. Describe the fundamental growth processes in infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age.
8. Understand the principles of biochemistry and biomarkers for various adult diseases.
Understanding the pharmacokinetic properties for each disease in adults.
10. Perform tasks using appropriate tools and laboratory skills expected in biochemistry.
