Reproduction and Life Stages

Course Description: The course covers the principles of growth and development. It includes general objectives and specific objectives that introduce students to the male and female reproductive organs, ovulation, spermatogenesis, fertilization, implantation, growth within the uterine wall, tissue differentiation, stages of embryogenesis, full development, birth, postnatal growth, and milestones of normal development during infancy, preschool, school age, puberty, maturity, adulthood, old age, and senescence. This also includes any abnormalities leading to impaired or excessive physical, sexual, or mental growth, their resulting disabilities, management, and prevention.

Objectives of the course :

1. Describe the development of a human from pregnancy to adulthood.
2. Identify the psychological and social characteristics of humans during different life stages.
3. Classification of congenital deformities by cause.
4. Identifying common developmental disorders
5. Explain the effects of the aging process.
6. Identifying the psychological, social, and health needs of humans during different life stages.
7. Examination of growth milestones and signs in infants and children at the simulation center.
8. Checking for signs of pregnancy and measuring uterine height during pregnancy in a simulation center.
