Advanced Animal Health and Diseases

Course Description: This course aims to provide an advanced understanding of animal health and the mechanisms of disease occurrence in farm animals, with a focus on the interaction between pathogens, host, and environment. The course covers the fundamentals of pathology, immunology, infectious and non-infectious diseases, modern diagnostic methods, and prevention and control programs. It also addresses the applications of biosecurity and herd health management in intensive livestock production systems.

Objectives of the course :

1. Interpretation of the pathophysiological mechanisms of various diseases in farm animals.
2. Analyze the relationship between the pathogen, host, and environment.
3. Diagnosis of diseases using modern laboratory and clinical methods.
4. Design effective disease prevention and control programs.
5. Assessing the herd's health status and making appropriate decisions.
6. Application of biosecurity principles to limit the spread of diseases.

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of etiologies (bacterial, viral, parasitic) and pathogenic and immune mechanisms in farm animals.
