Management theory building

Course Description: This course introduces the concept of theory/model within the context of epistemological and methodological analysis of its conceptual and scientific components, alongside complex societal components influencing administrative and economic frameworks. The course addresses research methods capable of building management theories (chief among them, grounded theory), with an analytical review of the methodology for constructing explanatory models in management contexts, and the philosophical, methodological, and cultural requirements for building management theories in light of the Arab-Islamic civilizational framework. It also seeks to develop skills in building theories and explanatory models in the field of management.
Credit hours: 3

1. Defining the epistemological and methodological framework for the concept of theory/model.
2. Assimilating the philosophical, methodological, and cultural requirements for building Arab management theories.
3. In-depth analysis of research approaches underpinning management theories.
