Organization theory

Course Description: This course provides a general framework for the concept of organizational theory and its importance, the historical development of organizational thought, and covers organizational theories and organizational design and its relationship to management practices, in addition to analyzing the organizational structure of organizations, and the available options for designing the appropriate organizational structure, in a way that achieves the goals of the organizations of interest, and discusses the main issues related to organizational theory, organizational structure, and job description.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: BUS 111
Objectives of the course :

This course aims to equip the student with the ability to define the concept of organizational theory, list the historical development of organizational thought, and explain and summarize theories related to this field. It also enhances critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills through solving a practical problem and promotes the values of working efficiently within a team.

Recognize the concept of organization theory and its importance.
Explains the historical development of organizational thought.
Discusses organizational theories, organizational design, and their relationship to management practices.
Analyzes the organizational structure, its advantages, and the justifications for its use
Explains issues related to job descriptions, such as: authority, responsibility, and coordination.
Identifies and evaluates alternatives, and develops decisions based on an analysis of the main issues related to organizational theory and structure.
It respects the values of cultural diversity in business organizations.
