Course Description: The Global Health course is designed to provide undergraduate public health students with a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts, challenges, and strategies related to global health. This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address major global health issues, promote health equity, and contribute to improving health outcomes globally. Throughout the course, students will explore a wide range of global health topics, including the global burden of disease, determinants of health, health systems and policies, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, environmental health, and health disparities. The course will also address critical issues such as health governance, global health financing, and ethical considerations in global health interventions. By examining global health challenges from an interdisciplinary perspective, students will develop a holistic understanding of the complex interactions between social, economic, environmental, and political factors that influence health outcomes worldwide. They will explore evidence-based approaches to address global health issues, including disease prevention, health promotion, strengthening health systems, and advocating for health equity. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, case studies, and group projects, students will acquire critical thinking and analytical skills to analyze global health issues, evaluate interventions, and propose strategies for improving global health outcomes. They will also examine the role of collaboration, partnerships, and cultural sensitivity in global health initiatives.
