Non-epidemic diseases

Course Description: - Describes the incidence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, accidents and injuries, and mental disorders. - Identifies the impact of risk factors for NCDs. - Monitors and evaluates the impact of NCDs at local, regional, and global levels. - Identifies ways to prevent and control risk factors leading to NCDs.
Credit hours: 4
Prerequisites: CMD 225
Objectives of the course :

1. Studying non-communicable diseases and comparing them to chronic diseases and infectious diseases.
2. Assessment of social, political, environmental, cultural, and economic factors contributing to the spread of non-communicable diseases.
3. Proposing and evaluating concepts for non-communicable disease surveillance, and assessing their control and monitoring programs.
4. The ability to apply theoretical knowledge gained during the course to develop strategies for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.

• Describe the principles and concepts of non-communicable diseases.
• Identify and recognize available methods for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases within the community.
• Applying research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques to investigate the most important non-communicable diseases.
