Course Description: This course covers the principles of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and their applications in public health. It includes spatial data collection, analysis, and mapping to monitor disease and health service distribution and to support health planning and decision-making.

Prerequisites: BPH 212
Objectives of the course :

1. Introduce the student to the principles of Geographic Information Systems.
2. Equipping them with spatial data analysis and representation.
3. Linking Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with Disease Surveillance and Supporting Health Planning.

● Explain the principles of Geographic Information Systems and their health applications.
● Describe methods for collecting and analyzing spatial data.
