School Health Program

Course Description: The School Health Program is a three-credit-hour course. Promoting the health of school students is a fundamental step towards achieving quality education. Therefore, school health services are measures taken by the health team, in collaboration with school administration, teachers, and parents, to promote the highest possible level of health for students throughout their school years. This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the school health program and how to plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of school health services.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

Discussion of the concept of school health programs.
2. Explain the health needs of children.
3. Explain how to manage health conditions among school students.
4. Description of the procedures for conducting medical examinations for school students.
5. Explain how to plan, implement, and evaluate school health services.
6. Describe how to foster a healthy school environment.
7. Explain how to manage food suppliers in schools.
8. Discussion of health education/hygiene in the school health program.
