Advanced Biodiversity

Course Description: This course covers the study of biodiversity at its different levels (genetic, species, and ecosystems), and its importance in providing ecosystem services. It also focuses on factors affecting biodiversity, the causes of its loss, the impact of human activities, in addition to conservation and environmental management strategies, with a focus on biodiversity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

Developing students' ability to analyze and assess biodiversity and apply conservation strategies using modern scientific methods.

1.1 Explains the concepts and levels of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
1.2 Evaluates the causes of biodiversity loss and the impact of human activities.
