Course Description: This course covers the fundamental principles of population genetics, including allele frequencies, Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, genetic drift, mutation, natural selection, population structure, and quantitative genetics. It also focuses on the application of mathematical and statistical models to analyze genetic variation and evolution, and the use of these concepts in conservation biology and breeding programs.
