The course aims to enable students to:
Identification of plant elements and components of different geographical regions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and distinguishing between vegetation cover areas to identify wild plant species, genera, and families.
Explanation of morphological and physiological adaptations of desert animals, especially mammals.
Distinguishing between types of environments and vegetation and describing the characteristics of each.
Investigating different environments and vegetation cover using specialized scientific references.
Comparing plants in different environments such as mountain slopes and valleys.
Analysis of plant and animal diversity and their classification through collecting wild plant specimens, identifying and scientifically naming them, and preparing a herbarium.
Evaluation of flora and fauna in the Qassim region through scientific references and the collection and study of plant samples.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

This course contributes to preparing graduates with applied knowledge of biodiversity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, qualifying them to work in the fields of environment and nature reserves, wildlife authorities, research centers, as well as sectors related to environmental assessment and natural resource management. Acquiring skills in classifying living organisms, analyzing ecosystems, and recognizing biological adaptations enhances employment opportunities in the fields of environmental studies, environmental consulting, and development projects related to biodiversity conservation, in line with sustainability trends and Saudi Vision 2030.
