Principles of Grammatical Thinking

Course Description: Through this course and its outcomes, the student will become acquainted with the methodological foundations upon which grammarians relied in identifying and employing methods of deduction, both by transmission and inference. This includes formulating rules, modes of thinking, coining terminology, and defining grammatical concepts and markers.

Objectives of the course :

Enabling the student to know the foundations of the Arabic grammatical mindset, and to understand the grammarians' starting points in making rulings and their reasoning for them.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:
That the student understands grammatical reasoning and the content of the theory of the agent.
The student should mention the rational grammatical evidence of hearing and consensus.
The student will identify prevailing and non-prevailing grammatical evidence.
The student will learn the meaning of grammar according to grammarians and the relationship between meaning and inflection.

to employ the factor theory and the grammatical limit in the field of linguistic research.
The student connects the origins of grammatical thinking with its evidence.
