Course Description: Applications of concepts learned in previous courses, with an emphasis on sentence parsing.

Objectives of the course :

Equipping the student with the skill of parsing.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:

  • To know the types of constructions, the differences and commonalities between accusative (mansubat), genitive (majru_rat), and appositives (tawabi_) in Arabic, and to extract them from texts and represent them with useful sentences.
  • To know nominal sentence patterns, correct vocalization for readability, and to know verbal sentence patterns.
  • The student learns detailed topics and how to use them precisely in language construction.

Cognitive skills:

  • The student learns Arabic sentence patterns in any text and retrieves the governing rule for each pattern to achieve a correct level of writing.
  • Analyzes transformations that occur to the Arabic sentence and explains the skill of generating similar sentences.
  • To be able to transfer acquired skills to practical application (writing and speaking).

Interpersonal skills and taking responsibility:

  • The student can perform and submit assignments on time.
  • The student demonstrates the ability to dialogue and discuss.
