Course Description: Literature Care in the Early Islamic and Umayyad Eras

Objectives of the course :

* Understanding the impact of Islam on Arab life and their literature in this era. * Familiarity with the most important artistic characteristics of literature in the early Islamic era and the Umayyad era. * Identifying the most prominent poets and writers in both eras. * Explaining Islam's stance on literary arts, especially poetry, and the impact of the environment on the development of literary arts, such as satires (naqa'id), courtly love (ghazal 'udri), epistles, and stories. * Appreciating the elements of beauty in the poetic and prose literary texts of these two eras. .
