Advanced Reproductive Physiology

Course Description: This course offers an in-depth study of the physiological mechanisms that control reproduction in farm animals. It covers the anatomy of the male and female reproductive systems, the hormones that regulate reproductive function in males and females, gametogenesis, hormonal regulation of the estrous cycle, pregnancy, and parturition. The course also focuses on integrating reproductive physiology with assisted reproductive technologies, such as artificial insemination, embryo transfer, in vitro fertilization, and cryopreservation of gametes and embryos. Students will learn to critically evaluate scientific research, understand reproductive problems, and apply advanced reproductive concepts to enhance reproductive efficiency, productivity, and animal welfare. Practical sessions will focus on reproductive examination, hormone estimation, and interpretation of reproductive data.
