Animal and Poultry Biotechnology

Course Description: This course provides knowledge of essential techniques in molecular genetics and biotechnology used in animal genetics, breeding, and improvement programs. The course covers principles of cell and tissue culture, DNA enzymes, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology, electrophoresis, molecular hybridization, blotting techniques, as well as genetic markers and genetic mapping. It also addresses gene cloning, gene transfer, gene expression, and genetically modified animals.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

Provide the student with the concepts and explain the basic techniques in molecular genetics.
Developing students' ability to apply partial methods
