Course Description: This course examines the reality of contemporary sects and their relationship to their past roots. - The course discusses the views of contemporary sects, such as Ibadism, Zaydism, Mu'tazilism, Ash'arism, Al-Ahbash, Druze, Sufism... and others. - The course addresses the understanding of sources of inference and reception, and the most prominent theological issues within these sects. - The overlap, influence, and impact among these contemporary sects.

Objectives of the course :

Recognizing the contemporary reality of the most prominent Islamic sects, linking their current ideas to their theological roots, and equipping the student to deal with contemporary sect developments from clear theological standpoints.

The student will understand the reality of contemporary sects and the relationship between some of them and their historical roots.
2. To understand the sources of reception and inference, and the most prominent doctrinal issues of the sects.

1- To analyze the areas of interference, influence, and impact between contemporary teams.
2. To compare contemporary Islamic groups' ideas with their ancient creedal roots.
3. To criticize the doctrinal foundations of contemporary sects.
4. To extract the articles of the sects from their primary sources.
