Nodal issues

Course Description: To provide an understanding of the methodology of the Salaf in addressing controversial issues in the chapters of creed (Aqidah), and to analyze and discuss contemporary creedal methodologies in light of modern developments.

Credit hours: 4

Objectives of the course :

Strengthen the student's affiliation with the methodology and path of the righteous predecessors in creed.
2. Understanding contemporary theological methodologies and explaining their connection to previous methodologies.
3. Addressing and discussing some thorny issues in the fields of creed, religions, sects, and doctrines in light of modern developments.
4. Review and evaluate the most important contemporary creedal studies and research.
5. Studying some subtle creedal issues and matters that require careful consideration and scrutiny in understanding Islamic texts, and the methodology of the early Muslims in deriving these issues from them.
6. Students will stand on the sayings of scholars regarding some doctrinal issues that affect the reality of contemporary Muslims and require clarification of the Islamic ruling, studied under scientific supervision.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:
1. The student should mention the position of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah regarding doctrinal issues necessitated by modern developments.
2- The student will explain the different curricula for studying doctrinal issues, both old and new.
Skills:
The student analyzes the position of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah on thorny contemporary issues.
2. The student will compare the positions of early and contemporary scholars on these issues and recognize their similarities and differences.
To critically evaluate the doubts of innovators and deviants according to a scientific methodology.
4. The student should extract the similarities and differences in knowledge sources between ancient and contemporary doubts regarding the studied issues.
Values, autonomy and responsibility:
To participate responsibly and effectively in diverse research or professional groups.
2. The student shall adhere to integrity and academic values in emerging ethical issues, research, and knowledge, and support them.
