Course Description: This course aims to discuss the accounting issues faced by companies engaged in international business and describe how accounting is practiced in every country around the world. It will cover the efforts of international professional organizations in harmonizing the views between countries and issuing international standards for financial accounting and financial reporting. It will also discuss the differences between local standards in each country and international standards. The course will address key relevant topics such as dealing with foreign exchange rate changes in foreign transactions, recording hedging transactions in accounting books, accounting during periods of inflation, financial analysis in light of standards, international taxation, and auditing. It also aims to promote values of social responsibility, cultural diversity, and teamwork. Additionally, it will develop the student's written communication skills through writing a report on an international accounting topic.
