Specialized Topics in Accounting

Course Description: This course addresses various case studies across all areas of accounting, requiring students to diagnose accounting problems and issues, and analyze relevant information by integrating and applying knowledge, skills, and techniques acquired from previous courses. These cases will thus provide an opportunity for students to hone their accounting skills in making economic decisions. Due to the importance and advanced nature of this course, students only register for it in their final semester of the program.

Prerequisites: ACCT240
Objectives of the course :

Upon completion of this course, it is expected that the student will be able to do the following:
• Analyzes, interprets, and discusses accounting cases using relevant business skills to evaluate different alternatives and make decisions.
Applies oral communication skills to present accounting cases.
• Actively and enthusiastically participates in a team environment to handle various accounting cases.
Identifies and interprets financial information contained in corporate financial reports.
