Accounting Seminar

Course Description: This course covers the fundamental concepts of applied scientific research in accounting, starting with an overview of scientific research methods and approaches. The course also focuses on enabling students to select relevant previous studies for their research topic, understand how to formulate statistical hypotheses, and related aspects of data collection and analysis. Furthermore, it aims to equip students with the skills to write concise scientific reports, prepare a research plan, and ultimately write a complete research paper, while adhering to the ethics and etiquette of scientific research.

Credit hours: 3

Prerequisites: ACCT241

Objectives of the course :

Upon completion of this course, it is expected that the student will be able to do the following:
• Knows how to define the research problem and its questions, and the accounting aspect related to the research topic.
• Reviews previous studies related to the research topic.
• Defines and formulates research objectives and hypotheses, and determines data collection methods.
• Collects data and analyzes it.
• Prepare a written report on the final research according to scientific research ethics and principles.
• Applies oral communication skills to present the stages of the research plan.
Actively and productively participates within a team environment.
