Course Description: The Anthropology of Education course focuses on employing anthropological approaches to understand the cultural dimension of humans, the influence of institutions on their education and upbringing, and the analysis of surrounding educational phenomena within the comprehensive and holistic framework of their society's culture.

Objectives of the course :

The course "Anthropology of Education" aims to deepen students' understanding of the cultural dimension of humans and societies, and to utilize anthropological approaches to understand the impact of educational institutions on human upbringing and socialization. It also seeks to analyze surrounding educational phenomena in the holistic context of their societal culture, through the following sub-objectives:
• Reviews the concepts associated with anthropology and its characteristics, its importance, and its relationship with other sciences.
• Explains the historical background of anthropology and the factors that contributed to its emergence.
• Explains the fields of anthropology: physical, cultural, and social, and their branches. .
Analyzes the concepts of anthropology of education, its development, objectives, importance, and functions.
• It defines the relationship between anthropology and education, practical applications, and the anthropological approach to studying education.
• Describes educational anthropology in terms of: different approaches to educational anthropology, research methods within it, key methodological steps, and field (ethnographic) studies.
