Maxillofacial growth and development

Course Description: This course is an introduction to provide students with knowledge of human growth, facial and jaw development, and teeth and occlusion in children. It will give students an overview of common craniofacial anomalies and syndromes, and how to manage them during the treatment of associated oral and dental diseases in children, while highlighting the factors affecting growth and development.

Objectives of the course :

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Acquiring fundamental knowledge related to human craniofacial growth and development
2. Understanding facial and jaw growth and the various changes in children
3. Knowing the different diagnostic and differential diagnostic methods for facial and jaw growth problems in children.
Understanding and knowing the prenatal teratogenic factors and environmental factors that threaten and lead to facial and jaw growth deformities.
