Course Description: The course covers the concept of teacher professional development and its importance and consideration, focusing on the reasons for its need at both the professional and academic levels. It also reviews methods of professional and academic development for teachers and ways to identify their training needs, in addition to the role of self-learning in their professional development, models of teacher training programs, and methods of professional development. The course also addresses the foundations of professional and academic development, and modern trends in this field such as reflective teaching, professional learning communities, the teacher's role as a researcher, and its relationship to the knowledge economy. The course concludes with skills for preparing professional and academic development programs for teachers in accordance with their specializations.
