Classic literature review

Course Description: This course aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge and understanding of classic literature related to endodontic treatment. The course consists of continuous weekly seminars dedicated to classic literature in this field, as well as a discussion of research methodologies. These seminars are held according to specific topics, where selected articles and chapters from prestigious international journals are reviewed for each topic. This allows students to gain in-depth knowledge of the selected topics. Furthermore, selected classic articles are critically analyzed to evaluate their evidence-based value.

Objectives of the course :

Upon completing this course, students should be able to critically analyze different types of studies and identify controversial clinical concepts and techniques.

Course outputs :

The student will be able to identify and explain controversial clinical concepts, techniques, and materials in the field of endodontics.
The student will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge in conducting and evaluating original research and scientific activities, keeping up with fundamental and professional technological developments, and emerging issues.
Develop critical reading skills related to endodontic literature to critically analyze different study designs and distinguish between methodologically strong and weak studies.
The student will be able to critically analyze selected articles, evaluating their scientific and clinical contributions to the practice and principles of endodontic treatment.
The student will be able to demonstrate relevant research skills, including library use, documentation, and presentation of written work.
The student will be able to communicate effectively in a variety of oral and written forms with colleagues, peers, and elders while discussing selected articles and data, demonstrating the ability to work within a team.
The student will be able to develop an independent stance toward knowledge, employing precise research methods and appropriate methodologies, applied with intellectual integrity and respect for ethical values.
