Advanced Pediatric Dentistry (1)

Course Description: Provide students with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of pediatric dentistry, including principles of diagnosis, treatment planning, and behavior management and pain control. Through this knowledge, students will be able to identify and diagnose various oral diseases and related abnormalities, as well as describe the principles of prevention and treatment for dental caries, oral diseases, and dental injuries in children and adolescents.

Objectives of the course :

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Description of diagnostic principles and treatment planning in pediatric dentistry.
2. Recognizing the principles of tooth development and then congenital and developmental anomalies of teeth and oral tissues.
3. Description of the means used in anesthesia and guiding children's behavior during dental treatment.
4. Explanation of aspects related to dental treatment in operating rooms and within hospitals.
5. Identifying the various aspects of dental caries and gum disease in children and adolescents and methods of prevention and treatment.
6. Explanation of how to manage and treat cases of dental trauma.
