Course Description: This course is designed to highlight the importance of basic biostatistical concepts for oral epidemiology and dental research. The course will make students realize the significance of the role of biostatistics in monitoring global and regional trends in the distribution of oral disorders and planning oral health care services. The content of this course will facilitate students' acquisition of skills in drawing conclusions from data collected in dental research and evaluating statistics presented in scientific research. The course will also include hands-on training in handling SPSS software.

Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:
1. Definition of Biostatistics
2. Discussion of data aggregation and presentation using different methods and techniques.
3. Calculation and interpretation of the significance test, statistical diagnostic accuracy in Kappa for index testing and regression analysis using the SPSS statistical package for data analysis.
