Readings in English language teaching methods and curricula

Course Description: This course covers the fundamentals of English language curricula, their critique, and research methodologies. It includes: an introduction to curricula, educational philosophies, curriculum history, reading and critiquing significant works such as Tyler's model and methods for constructing language curricula and the hidden curriculum, in addition to reading abstracts from the ERIC database and previous master's theses, and concludes with training students to design their own research paper.

Objectives of the course :

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Analysis of issues and approaches in the construction of English language curricula.
2. Understanding current trends in English language curriculum research.
3. Critique and analysis of readings on English language teaching methodologies.
Choosing a suitable title for a future master's thesis.
5. Evaluating selected research papers in English language teaching methodology studies.
