Applied pharmacology will be reviewed in conjunction with relevant aspects of pathophysiology and pharmacology. Emphasis will be placed on drug selection, dosage regimen design, and therapeutic drug monitoring to assess the achievement of therapeutic efficacy and the avoidance of adverse effects.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

Acquire the necessary therapeutic knowledge to manage patients with selected diseases.
Identifying appropriate drug treatments for selected diseases.
Understanding the relationship between the pathophysiology of selected diseases and the mechanisms of action of drugs used to treat them.
Explanation of the scientific rationale for the use of medications in patients with selected diseases.
Identifying the desired therapeutic outcomes of pharmacotherapy for selected diseases.
Developing a plan to monitor drug effectiveness, side effects, patient adherence to treatment, and drug interactions associated with pharmacotherapy for selected diseases.
