Course Description: This advanced course provides a critical evaluation of the safety, efficacy, and toxicology profiles of commonly used herbal medicines and dietary supplements. Students will analyze the phytochemical basis of supplement action, assess the molecular mechanisms of herb-drug interactions, and examine the regulatory frameworks for these products. The course focuses on synthesizing evidence-based safety assessments for the management of patients utilizing complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in the context of clinical toxicology.
