Course Description: This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of current norms and practices in scientific and technical writing within the field of pharmacy and other related health science disciplines. It serves as an intensive introduction to preparing, drafting, editing, and revising pharmaceutical research correspondence, medical reports, and patient education materials. Students will also learn how to present their ideas confidently, with clarity, and in a distinguished style. Course requirements include students undertaking a small field research project based on questionnaires. Students will apply the knowledge required to code, re-code, and analyze the collected data with the aim of drafting, writing, and presenting their findings.

Objectives of the course :

Main Objectives:
• Acquiring effective writing skills for scientific materials related to pharmacy and other health sciences disciplines.
• Ability to write concisely and clearly using a sober scientific writing style.
• Mastering presentation skills and using audio-visual media to enhance the quality of presentations.
• Recognize the types of scientific literature and read their different templates and formats.
• Understand the steps of writing scientific research and gain a comprehensive understanding of them.
• Providing the opportunity to analyze and present results by offering a practical, hands-on experience in conducting small research projects.

Course outputs :

1.1 Reproduction and application of knowledge related to the writing of scientific publications and reports using a scientific and effective writing style.
1.2 Developing scientific knowledge and skills necessary for collecting scientific data in a research project, and for analyzing and interpreting it.
2.1 Demonstrate effective presentation skills by reviewing original articles from scientific journals relevant to the course topics.
2.2 Demonstrate the ability to write different types of research manuscripts (original research articles, review articles, and clinical case reports), adhering to academic standards.
3.1 Critical analysis of research literature and their own work, fostering a mindset of inquiry and evaluation.
3.2 Collaborative work with peers, and valuing feedback and diverse opinions in my research and writing process.
3.3 Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and a continuous pursuit of developing their writing and presentation skills.
