Course Description: Successful participants in this course will be qualified to: • Identify the fundamental principles and methods of clinical toxicology. • Describe various toxic syndromes. • Explain the basic principles of managing and treating poisoning or overdose cases. • Explain and apply the fundamental concepts of toxicokinetics. • Identify and characterize the toxic effects of important drug and therapeutic classes on different body organs. • Clarify the mechanisms of toxic action at the cellular, biochemical, and molecular levels. • Develop approaches and methods for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of toxic effects.
