Course Description: Historical definition of quality control - Understanding the meaning of "quality" - Developments in quality science (quality planning, total quality control, quality improvement, quality assurance, and total quality management) - Identifying the required quality limits for a product - Review of statistical distributions used in quality control - Statistical inference and hypothesis testing - Statistical methods in quality control - Shewhart control charts and their types - Quality chart methods - Statistical methods in quality improvement - Pareto chart - Fishbone diagram (Ishikawa diagram) - Control charts for continuous variables - Process capability - Control charts for discrete and descriptive variables - Acceptance sampling and its risks - Operating Characteristic (OC) curve.
