A simple icon, consisting of a series of links surrounded by a circle, is a common symbol for a connection or hyperlink. The lines of the icon are outlined in a dark black color on the background, with the addition of military elements of the Saudi national identity such as the Ghutra, Shamaa, and Saudi Bisht, to reflect the distinctive local character of Qassim University.

Designing and analyzing experiments

Course Description: Review of some fundamental concepts of statistical inference - basic principles of experimental design - replication - randomization - blocking. Simple comparative experiments: t-test and paired t-test. One-way experiments: completely randomized design - model checking - contrasts and multiple comparisons - comparing pairs of treatment means. Blocking designs: randomized complete block design - Latin square design - Latin rectangle design. Practical designs: two-factor designs - three-factor designs - generalized factorial designs. Two-level factorial designs: two-factor two-level designs - three-factor two-level designs - generalized two-level factorial designs. Confounding. Split-plot design.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to study the basic concepts of statistical inference, as well as the different types of designs and analysis of experiments.

Course outputs :

Acquiring knowledge by learning some basic concepts related to types of randomized experimental designs and their analysis. Enhancing the ability to examine and fit statistical models and conduct appropriate tests in randomized experimental designs. Improving the ability to pursue advanced studies when needed in the field of experimental design and analysis. Gaining proficiency in computer use and the methodology of simulating and predicting phenomena.
