Introduction to Disease Physiology

Course Description: This course is designed to enhance the understanding and application of basic pathological processes from a clinical perspective, i.e., general concepts of disease including etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical significance.

Prerequisites: 112 PHG
Objectives of the course :

This course aims to provide students with the following:
• Understanding the pathophysiological basis of diseases.
• Description of the different processes of disease generation.
The basic and general concept of tumors.

Course outputs :

1.0 Knowledge and Understanding:
1.1 Discussion of the causes of cell injury, its pathogenetic mechanisms, and its local and systemic effects.
1.2 Description of the phenomenon of inflammation and its relationship to the pathological process.
1.3 Discussion of the implications of different wound healing patterns.
1.4 Discussion of the fundamental principles, pathogenesis, and clinical significance of circulatory disorders, immunological pathology, and oncology.
