Course Description: This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of scientific research methodologies and biostatistics as a prerequisite for dealing with evidence found in biomedical literature.

Prerequisites: MATH135
Objectives of the course :

The concept of evidence-based pharmacy practice and sources of drug information.
Common study designs in biomedical literature.
Strengths and limitations of different study designs.
Basic Concepts and Theoretical Aspects of Biostatistics.
Requirements and steps for conducting descriptive and inferential statistics.
Important statistical formulas used in biomedical research.
Common statistical tests and software in data analysis.
Applying statistical concepts to practical scenarios and cases.
