Biochemistry

Course Description: This course covers the study of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids, and immunoglobulins, focusing on their chemical structures and biological significance. It also addresses enzymes, glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, and other metabolic pathways related to carbohydrates. The regulation of blood glucose levels will also be discussed. Additionally, the course covers lipid and protein metabolism, nucleotide metabolism, and their biosynthesis. It also provides an overview of genetic disorders associated with amino acid metabolism, porphyria, hemoglobin, and mineral metabolism.
Credit hours: 3
