Course Description: This course provides a comprehensive introduction to plant biology, focusing on the study of the characteristics of living organisms and the foundations of their classification, while clarifying the differences between plants and animals. The course also covers prokaryotes (such as bacteria and blue-green algae) and eukaryotes, including fungi and algae. The course primarily focuses on the plant kingdom, examining its various groups starting from non-vascular plants (mosses), through seedless vascular plants, and ending with seed plants. The course also addresses plant morphology, including roots, stems, and leaves, their types, and modifications, as well as seed germination and some topics related to viruses. The course includes a practical component aimed at developing students' laboratory examination skills through the use of live specimens and microscopic slides, thereby enhancing the practical understanding of theoretical concepts. The educational process is also supported using modern tools such as presentations and online platforms.
